Tim Cole

 

Tim Cole is the Executive Director of Waypoint Church Partners which serves our family of churches in the Mid-Atlantic states of MD, VA, NC, and SC. Since 1938 Waypoint has helped launch over 160 new churches around their region.

Tim graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in 1988 (BS) and Mount St. Joseph University in 1990 (MA). Tim and his wife, Lisa, helped to start churches in France and Ukraine before he was the lead planter for two Waypoint church plants in Virginia.

Tim oversees Waypoint's staff and daily operations, leads Church Plant management teams, coaches church planters, and consults with and serves churches and leaders across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Mark Nelson

 

Mark is the Executive Director of the Three Rivers Collaborative, a Johnson University initiative of learning communities for churches in Knoxville, TN. In addition, he is the lead pastor at Thorn Grove Christian Church in east Knoxville. He has 37 years of vocational church ministry experience which includes youth ministry, campus ministry and church planting. He is the co-author (with Alan Hirsch) of the book "Reframation: Seeing God, People, and Mission Through Reenchanted Frames", and his upcoming book "Lunchroom Theology" will be released in September. He has been married for 37 years to Monica and together they have three grown children.

Shannon McCready

 

Shannon is serving as Lead Minister with Community Christian Church of NYC. Shannon was originally a “home-grown” minister from Central Christian Church in Wichita, KS, where he was discipled and trained by leaders of his home church. Later, Shannon turned to church planting in Western North Carolina, first with Stadia and then a second plant with Waypoint Church Partners. Today, Shannon and his wife, Sherri, live with three of their four adult children in East Harlem, focusing on modes of discipleship and raising up new leaders. Shannon enjoys cycling, guitar, time with family, and finding new places to eat in the city, but his greatest joy is Jesus—and pointing people to Him!

Workshop Speakers

Seth Bouchelle

 

Seth is an evangelist and church planter in NYC. He graduated from Abilene Christian University, where he completed degrees in Mission Studies and Biblical Text. Seth also studied Christian Spirituality at Fordham University in the Bronx. Seth has been serving in New York City since 2014, focusing primarily on multi-ethnic, secular, and ‘post-Christian’ communities in Manhattan and the Bronx. In addition to planting churches, Seth serves as the Director of Equipping for Exponent Group, coaching traditional churches in evangelism and cross-cultural ministry. He is the co-author of “Mosaic: A Ministry Handbook for a Globalizing World” and author of “Lost Faith: A Practical Theology for Post-Christendom Ministry.”

Charlie Bantoc

 

Charlie Bantoc is a graduate of Manila Bible Seminary and also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theology at International Christian College with a major in ministry. Bro. Bantoc has served as a full-time minister in 3 different churches in the Philippines which includes Amadeo, General Trias and Cardona. He is now the full-time minister of Hillside Church of Christ in Queens, NYC. He was also an instructor of  the National Youth Organization in the Philippines for many years.

He also served as a professor at ICCM and Alpha College of Theological Study.

David Elliot

 

David L. Elliott was born in Manhattan three years after the 10th Street Church of Christ was established by his father, David Vaughn Elliott. He decided to follow Jesus at a young age and was baptized at Elfin Lake Camp near Rutland, Vermont. His wife, Lois, has been his faithful companion for 46 years; they have three children and four grandchildren with another one on the way. They have lived and served in Elmira, NY; Lawrence, MA; San Jose, Costa Rica; Vega Baja and Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. David now serves as an evangelist for the Spanish-speaking Iglesia de Cristo in Lawrence, MA and also works as an electrical engineer.
